new-Business development Manager - warehouse automation. syd

- Do you have experience in designing and executing outbound direct sales and marketing strategies?

- Can you demonstrate previous exposure to the automated storage, logistics, industrial racking, intralogistics, materials-handling or warehousing industry?



My client is a global technology company specialising in advanced logistics robot systems and intelligent warehouse automation solutions. They design and manufacture leading-edge Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and innovative good-to-person and sorting technologies and have a strong brand presence in high-value / intralogistics “majors” market. 


With strong financial backing and a desire to accelerate the growth of their established Australian operations into 2026, a new opportunity has been created for a New Business Developer to identify business opportunity for smaller and “mid-market” end-clients.

Working closely with a professional, experienced and ambitious team who value consistency and promote autonomy, the successful candidate will create and execute strategise to identify new business opportunities. Specifically, this will include:

⁃  Undertake market research to identify potential target clients in the small-to-mid market sector. 

⁃  Manage the end-to-end workflow of sales leads. 

⁃  Identify relevant stakeholders / buying influencers.

⁃  Undertake outreach to these contacts, communicate the service offering of the organisation and qualify business leads to secure initial appointments for the design team.

⁃  You will be expected to "sieve" through leads, pursue them persistently but politely, and ensure our business remains top-of-mind for potential clients.

⁃  Establish and maintain a structured CRM of sales leads and opportunities. 

⁃  Assist with broader brand visibility, including managing LinkedIn posts, organising on-site events and coordinating industry trade shows (e.g., CeMAT).

⁃  Execute, track and report on outreach strategies, follow-ups and outcomes, providing automated and structured reports on progress to the leadership team.


About You

You have experience in industrial automation, intralogistics, industrial racking, logistics or supply chain; giving you an understanding of the landscape of many of the potential 3PL / end-client customers. In addition you are:

⁃  A self-starter and imaginative problem-solver, you have a track record of defining, executing and assessing new-business strategies.

⁃  Consultative and professional, you possess a steady, considered and articulate communication style. 

⁃  You can hold a high-level first conversation and follow up with both credibility and professionalism.

⁃  You are process-driven and capable of tracking complex workflows independently.

⁃  An excellent communicator, you are comfortable with the phone

⁃  You can demonstrate the persistence and resilience to thrive a proactive sales environment.

⁃  You thrive in a conservative, focused workplace where the team is highly experienced and dedicated to results.

⁃  You are comfortable managing your own workflow and take personal pride in contributing to team success.

⁃  Experience of supporting and driving social media marketing strategy would be beneficial but is not essential.


This role offers the chance to work closely with and support the accelerated success of a tight-knit, professional, Sydney-based team who work with cutting-edge industrial automation and robotics. 


The role can be delivered either on a full-time of part-time basis; with consideration also given if school-time patterns need to be accommodated.
