The Organisation
Specialising in the design, manufacture and integration of advanced material handling and robotic automation systems for industries including food and beverage, logistics and e-commerce, our client maintains a significant international footprint and delivers end-to-end solutions that combine bespoke hardware with intelligent software controls. The planned growth of their Australian operations has the potential to significantly exceed that of their direct market competition.
The Role
Contributing to their growth journey and responding to a growing pipeline of further project awards, a new role has been created for an experienced Project Manager. Reporting to the Director of Projects and joining colleagues in an established PM department, the new appointee will work with significant autonomy, taking ownership of the on-time / on-budget delivery of a small number of concurrent integrated industrial automaton projects.
Understanding the functional specifications of allocated projects, you will establish budgets, timelines and schedules. You will collaborate with internal colleagues (sales, lead mechanical engineers, / electrical & controls engineers, procurement and manufacturing) as well as external clients and contractors to plan, drive, budget, forecast and report on successful project delivery. Specifically you will:
- Set and manage project milestones
- Monitor and manage the project timeline, with cross-team inputs, buy-in and delivery commitment, ensuring this is maintained throughout the project timeline.
- Prepare and implement project specific execution plans and keep updated during the project life.
- Monitor and manage and review the project budgets, ensuring Project Reports and budgets are robustly maintained.
- Prepare tasks and monitor progress at a project level.
- Maintain and manage the risks, actions and issues tracking
- Manage compliance with customer specific standards as required.
- Monitor and drive invoicing for all projects.
- Prepare regular project status reports for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Attend regular meetings with the client and internal departments.
- Manage project documentation, project change orders and variations.
- Manage the site works as/when required.
- Resolve project issues and resource constraints within the team and with assistance of management.
- Support the development of user and technical manuals.
- Support future projects during the sales phase as required by coordinating with Sales representative.
About you
You have a track record in taking lead responsibility for the successful delivery of integrated industrial automation solutions; for manufacturing, packaging, BHS, Food & Beverage, warehouse automation or similar supply chain/materials handling industry applications. You are comfortable working in a complex project related environment, you are customer-focused and adept at managing and prioritising multiple work-streams.
In addition you are/have:
-An excellent communicator; able to present/work well with external clients (liaising with different levels of stakeholders)
-Process driven and safety focused
-Commercially minded with contract experience and of managing project variations
-The ability to develop strong and trusted relationships
-Strong listening skills and able to interpret customer needs
-Able be self-motivated / work autonomously
-Strong attention to detail and the ability to focus when under pressure
-Sound organisational & problem-solving skills
-An optimistic, positive and engaging outlook
-Sound Microsoft Office skills – Project, Excel, Word, Outlook & SharePoint
-Driving Licence
-Right to work in Australia
