Our Sydney-based client is highly respected in their industry. With a impressive portfolio of projects they help their customers to design, commission and deliver high-value material handling solutions (BHS/MHS) both in Australia and overseas.
With a strong ambition to grow their existing team and pipeline of work to support this plan, a new opportunity has now been created in their established Sydney office. Reporting to and with the strong support of the Director of Projects, the new appointee will occupy a key and varied role. Their primary focus will be :
- Conceptual and preliminary layout design of large scale automated material handling solutions (eg BHS, automated cargo handling, parcel sortation solutions or similar)
- Development of general concept layout drawings (using Revit) from site surveys and/or existing drawings.
- Production of 3D Revit modelling and renderings.
- Design validation of designs to ensure robust design through:
o failure mode analysis,
o material flow analysis,
o static and dynamic 3D simulation of designs
- Supporting project teams on site during project installation and commissioning.
- (For larger projects), leading other members of the solution design team.
About you:
With an engineering or architectural background, you have previously worked in the design of automated systems layouts OR building fabric packages for high-value airport, cargo handling, automated warehouse or parcel sortation CapEx projects. In addition, you have:
- 5+ years experience using Revit, SolidWorks or other 3D drafting package.
- Experience in mechanical concept design / layout design for BHS, cargo handling, parcel sortation or warehouse automation OR
- Strong Revit expertise and a strong architectural portfolio of airport terminal, automated cargo facility or automated warehouse project work.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong internal/external stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.
- High attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in leading people / teams.
- Note: previous experience on site during project installation and commissioning would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Driving licence.
- Comfort in working in a broad and varied role.
- Existing working rights for Australia.
