Our client, a global leader in the design, construction and maintenance of integrated robotics solutions, has an immediate opportunity for a Software and Computer Vision Engineer to join their growing Sydney-based team.
In this collaborative, project-focused role you will design and maintain their modular software platform for robotic application, with specific focus on C# microservices, Python-based machine learning integration and system communication. Specifically:
- Lead the development and maintenance of their modular software system for a
pick-and-place robotics solution.
- Design and evolve a suite of C# services for image acquisition,
object segmentation, pick point prioritization and robot path planning.
- Integrate a Python-based machine learning pipeline (Mask R-CNN) for
object detection and segmentation from 3D scan data.
- Ensure seamless communication with external systems such as SCADA and
BGFusion.
- Leverage BGCore 3.0 infrastructure to manage service orchestration
and inter-service communication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Platform & Tools (P&T),
robotics, SCADA and BGFusion team to ensure robust system integration.
- Drive technical improvements, system scalability and fault tolerance across
the software stack.
About you:
You have 4+ years practical post-graduate experience and ca demonstrate practical application and evidence of:
- Strong proficiency in C# and experience building & maintaining microservices.
- Solid understanding of computer vision & 3D geometry.
- Experience integrating Python-based ML models into production systems.
- Familiarity with image acquisition systems & data transformation
pipelines.
- Understanding of industrial systems & communication with SCADA & GUI platforms.
- Experience working with containerised environments & CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong debugging & system-level problem-solving skills.
Highly regarded / not essential:
-Experience with BGCore 3.0 or similar service orchestration frameworks.
-Familiarity with robotic systems & pick-and-place workflows.
-Experience with GUI integration & real-time system feedback.
-Knowledge of cloud or edge deployment strategies for industrial applications.
