PROJECT MANAGER - AUTOMATED STORAGE. AUCKLAND

As part of their ongoing commitment to delivering class-leading automation and storage solutions, our client, a well established and successful industrial automation solution provider, has an immediate investment opening for an ambitious Project Manager to lead complex CapEx customer projects.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will be an integral part of the systems team, ensuring large-scale programs are delivered professionally in terms of customer satisfaction, time, and budget. Operating with a "bias for action," you will lead multidisciplinary teams and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle—from initial inception through to successful commissioning and final delivery.
Specifically, you will:
- Manage all aspects of complex projects from inception to delivery, ensuring professional execution and strict adherence to schedules.
- Own the project commercials, including monitoring of financial status, cost control, and monthly sale/profit recognition forecasting.
- Navigate project variations, ensuring that scope changes are managed, costed, and executed without compromising the project’s bottom line.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers, demonstrating the functional acumen to support how solutions address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
- Master the stakeholder matrix, engaging with internal cross-functional teams, suppliers and external stakeholders to resolve issues and dependencies.
- Lead and motivate onsite project teams, building a culture of safety and high-performance objectives.
About you:
You are a tenacious, inquisitive project leader with a blend of analytical problem-solving skills and the inspirational leadership style required to move complex teams forward. You can demonstrate:
- Experience managing projects from inception to delivery within Industrial Automation, Intralogistics, Baggage Handling, Factory Automation CapEx projects, or similar.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a proven track record of managing project budgets, variance control, and driving for results and profit.
- Deep technical capability, with the ability to perceive and plan to avoid unacceptable risk in a problem-solving environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Tertiary and post-graduate qualifications in Project Management, Mech / Elec Engineering or an appropriate functional discipline.
- A valid Driving Licence
- Professional and ethical conduct, ensuring all projects are delivered in alignment with core company values and safety standards.
