They are highly respected in their industry niche, delivering turnkey automation and digitalisation solutions across diverse sectors.

You will lead high-quality, challenging project work for a firm that prioritises collaboration, integrity, and customer-centric results over corporate bureaucracy. To support their expanding Sydney office, they are seeking a seasoned engineer who brings the kind of deep, site-tested experience that only comes from years of solving complex automation puzzles in the field.
Specifically, you will:
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of advanced industrial automation solutions from initial scoping to final handover.
- Develop PLC and SCADA code from scratch, utilising platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, and Codesys.
- Execute detailed site commissioning, including I/O, water, production, and CIP testing to ensure seamless rollouts.
- Guide customers through digital transformation, designing modern infrastructure and data analytics tools for both on-premise and cloud solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices, technical knowledge, and performing peer code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, developing functional descriptions, factory acceptance documents, and user manuals in line with ISA 88, 95, and 106 standards.
About you:
You are a senior technical authority who thrives in a problem-solving environment and enjoys the "art" of engineering as much as the logic.
You can demonstrate:
- A minimum of 7 years of control systems design experience, specifically building complex systems from scratch.
- Deep industry experience in liquid-movement environments (e.g. Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Water Treatment, or Chemicals).
- Strong site commissioning experience, with the resilience and troubleshooting skills required for successful site rollouts.
- Expertise in PLC and SCADA development, with specific proficiency in Rockwell or Siemens control systems.
- Experience with "Ignition" is highly regarded, alongside a solid understanding of ISA 101 standards.
- Technical leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage project timelines and collaborate effectively across IT, OT, and operations departments.
